Advocate for Patients in Assisted Living, Rehab and Nursing Homes

If a person resides in an assisted living facility, or if a patient is recovering from a procedure in a rehab facility, a number of doctors are usually in attendance. Each specialist prescribes medication. When taken together, medications may interact causing serious consequences. In other cases, a patient entering rehab or assisted living, may simply continue the medications previously prescribed while the attending doctor in the new facility prescribes new medications. Sometimes family members are concerned with the number of medications taken by their loved one. Often they observe personality changes or unresponsiveness displayed by their family member.

I can review a patient’s entire medical records and discuss the patient’s care and medications with the attending physician(s). In almost every case, once brought to the attending physician’s attention, unnecessary medications are removed, and care at the facility improves.
